Day One:
So it’s the first day of classes at AUT, so naturally, my first featured Kiwi is none other than the girl sitting next to me in class.
Her name is Eileen, and she’s got one of the coolest mixes of ethnicities. She’s half-Australian and half-Thai and gorgeous. Someone please explain to me why I’m half Asian and I’m not as exotic looking as the rest of these hapas. (There’s another word for hapas here and I’m just blanking on it at the moment).
Anyways, she moved to Auckland after living in Thailand for 7 years, and she loves New Zealand except for the rain. So today wasn’t really a great day for her because it poured most of the morning.
Meanwhile, I’m loving the rain and the green and the great mix of vegetation, but most of all, the great mix of people. More on that later!
